Are you tired of chasing pens and pencils around the house? It never seems to fail. You get busy with answering questions and all the business of running your homeschool. Then, just when you need to jot something down, the pen or pencil you had in your hand a moment ago is gone. It’s almost like they have legs of their own. Here’s a quick tip to keep them handy, wherever you might be.
Use a pretty glass or plastic container about three inches in diameter and half the height of a pen. A small kitchen drinking glass is a good size. Fill it half full of uncooked popcorn, uncooked rice, small pebbles, or little colored beads. Your pens and pencils will easily stand up and be ready to grab at a moment’s notice. The popcorn or other filler will also collect the ink on the points of the pens and keep them working properly.
Set them all around your house: near the phone, at your desk, on the table or countertop; anywhere you usually jot a note.
